چکیده

In the steel industry, development of a coke production technology that uses low-grade coal is desired. Decarbonization by use plant biomass also an important option. A candidate formed coke, which produced forming non-coking using binder, followed carbonization. Kraft lignin, by-product in pulp and paper mills potential binder because it aromatic polymer dissolved from wood. this study, thermal powder was blended with softwood kraft lignin at ratios 0 to 20% briquetted cold-pressing or hot-pressing. Then, briquette carbonized 1000°C produce coke. To verify whether has sufficient strength for blast furnace, product subject indirect tensile test. The increased increasing content; however, exceeding target 5 MPa could not be obtained cold forming. briquetting temperature determinant strengthening factor Formed hot-pressing temperatures higher than 150°C 10% pressing pressure 150 successfully attained strength. did always correspond density corresponding indicating products originating play role strongly binding particles. Softwood seems good material high

Plastic Wastes, Lube Oils and Carbochemical Products as Secondary Feedstocks for Blast-furnace Coke Production

Plastic wastes, lube oils and coal-tar are evaluated, individually and combined, as additives to coal blends for the production of blast-furnace coke. The effects of adding 2 wt% of potential additives or their mixtures (50:50 w/w) on the coking capacity of coal, the pressure generated during the coking process and the coke quality parameters were evaluated. Using a combination of polyolefin wa...

Preparation and Characterization of K2CO3-Activated Kraft Lignin Carbon

A series of activated carbons (ACs) were prepared by K2CO3 activation from kraft lignin (KL) that was recovered from papermaking black liquor. The effects of process parameters such as the activation temperature (AT), activated period, K2CO3 to KL mass ratio, and N2 flow rate on the characteristics of the final product were determined. The ACs were characterized using nitrogen adsorption, morph...

The Principle of Blast Furnace Operational Technology and Centralized Gas Flow by Center Coke Charging

High pellets ratio operation forced by burden material restrictions at Kobe Steel resulted in the development of a center coke charging process based on centralized gas flow principle. This methodology produced a novel approach to burden distribution, coal combustion and pellets operation, in which these processes are viewed as part of a chain reaction. As a result of these developments, furnac...

Changes of Lignin Molecular Structures in a Modification of Kraft Lignin Using Acid Catalyst

The purpose of this study is to modify lignin for better blending with general purpose synthetic polymers. The possible advantages by using this modification would be cost reduction, better physical properties, and biodegradability. In this study, butyrolactone-modified lignin (BLL) and tetrahydrofuran-modified lignin (THFL) were used for aliphatic chain modification of lignin using an acid-cat...

Using Genetic Algorithms as a Controller for Hot Metal Temperature in Blast Furnace Processes

The hot metal temperature (HMT) of a blast furnace is an important indicator of the furnace’s internal state. Because the blast furnace system is non-linear, neural networks have been employed to approximate these systems. Artificial neural nets have been developed to approximate these dynamics and predict future HMT hours into the future, with limited accuracy. This paper focuses on inversion,...
